Open Retreats

A Weekend in Winter

January 19-22

Inspiration: Maeve Binchy’s book A Week in Winter. A woman returns home to Ireland to open an inn on the coast. Family style dinners and nature walks make fast friends of her guests. Makes me want soup and hearty bread- and cozy up with some unfinished projects- and if the day is lovely maybe enjoy some of the trails around Mammoth Cave National Park.

KO Blankenship of Psycho Granny’s Quilt Shop will be teaching a beginner’s quilted project bag and has agreed to be available to help with sewing questions. Muffins and coffee or tea will be provided, as well as a midafternoon soup and sandwich dinner   If you want to eat out, there’s a local diner two doors down open 6 am to 3 pm, later on Friday night for catfish fry!

March Madness Hosted Retreat

Always wanted to learn to quilt? Having trouble with machine quilting? This instructor-led hosted retreat will help you get sewing!

Psycho Granny (K.O. Blankenship) returns to teach a beginning quilt project and will be on hand throughout the weekend to get your project over the bump! We will provide a small quilting project to work on, but of course you are welcome to bring your UFOs, WIPs, or get started on a new quilt. Having trouble with finishing the top? KO will help you out! Ask her about long arm quilting!

Check in as early as 3 pm on Thursday to get settled and sew as late as 5 pm on Sunday. We will provide a continental breakfast, coffee and tea, snacks, and a late afternoon dinner for each full day as well as Thursday after check in.
